GUIDE TO AUTHORS

NIJOCET, a publication of the Faculty of Computing, Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, Nigeria, is an esteemed Journal of Computing, Engineering & Technology, and related fields with a global reach. The Journal is double-blind peer-reviewed and welcomes high-quality articles, research notes, and book reviews for publication. Authors submitting papers for publication are encouraged to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:

  1. Submission Formats:
    • Manuscripts should be submitted both in hard copy and electronically as a Microsoft Word attachment to the provided email address.
  2. Formatting:
    • Articles should be in 12-point font size, Times New Roman, and double-spaced with standard A4-size margins.
  3. Cover Page:
    • The cover page should include the paper’s title, author(s) name(s), and complete contact details, including email and mobile phone numbers. Clearly specify the corresponding author.
  4. Abstract and Keywords:
    • Include an abstract of no more than 300 words, followed by 4 – 6 keywords.
  5. Originality:
    • Manuscripts submitted must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The content should comprise: i. Introduction ii. Background of the Research iii. Methodology iv. Results and Discussion v. Conclusion vi. References
  6. Publication Consent:
    • Articles are accepted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and will not be published elsewhere without the Editor-in-Chief’s written consent.
  7. Copyright:
    • The copyright of articles accepted for publication belongs to NIJOCET.
  8. Images:
    • All photos, drawings, diagrams, illustrations, and other images in the manuscripts should also be submitted in digital format, preferably as JPEG or GIF files.
  9. Captions:
    • Captions for images should be submitted in a separate list from the diagrams or photographs.
  10. Image Placement:
    • Clearly mark the position of any photos, drawings, diagrams, illustrations, and other images in the text.
  11. Raw Graph Data:
    • Provide raw graph data separately in case it’s necessary to reproduce the graph in another computer application program.
  12. References:
    • All references must strictly adhere to the IEEE or Harvard referencing styles.
  13. Processing Fee:
    • Authors submitting papers must include a non-refundable processing fee of N5,000 or $20.
  14. Page Charges:
    • Contributors whose articles are accepted for publication will be required to pay a page charge of N15,000 or $100 to NIJOCET.
  15. Page Limit:
    • A maximum of 10 pages are allowed; additional pages will incur a charge of N100 per page.
  16. Submission Deadlines:
    • The deadline for article submissions for the June issue is 30th April, while for the December issue, it is 31st October each year.
